From choir to playing saxophone in the band, from singing for the school jazz band to opera in the shower – music is a way for me to release anxieties and pain. It’s an awesome way to have a great time on your own or with people in your life.

It was tough to narrow down a list of songs that made me really happy to ten. Hopefully one of these songs will help to make your day just a little bit better.

Song: “Happy” (of course!) by Pharrell Williams

Lyrics that inspire: “Clap along if you know what happiness is to you.”

Lyrics that inspire: “I gotta feelin’ that tonight’s gonna’ be a good, good night”

Song: “Hot Hot Heat” by Goddess on the Prairie

Song:“Video” by India Arie

Song: “Hold Your Head” by Homeboy Sandman

Lyrics that inspire: “Hold your head, one day it’ll be different”

Song:“Daylight” by Matt and Kim

Lyrics that inspire: “Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home”

Song: “The Future Freaks Me Out” by Motion City Soundtrack

Lyrics that inspire: “Check it out I’m rockin’ steady to the beat in my head, it goes oh-oh-oh-oh!”

Song: “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” by Jason Mraz

Lyrics that inspire: “I won’t worry my life away”

Song:“Help I’m Alive” by Metric
