Welcome beautiful people of the internet! I’m Jay, coming at you with my first ever blog post. I know that you’re probably struggling with something (hence your presence on this website) and have somehow in someway stumbled upon this blog post to find some sort of relief or guidance. I have compiled a completely self-written list of websites  to help boost your mood. So take a deep breath, grab a glass of water, and get comfy.

Freerice
Freerice is a website where you can go online and answer questions for different school subjects and for every question you answer right, 10 grains of rice gets donated through the United Nations World Food Programme to help end hunger. I know it sounds super dorky, but there are really interesting sub subjects you can choose and you are making a difference for people in need. Freerice is a non-profit website that is owned by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme.

Calm
This website is honestly one of the best websites to just help clear your mind. You can sign up for free and get access to meditation techniques and mindfulness tips. One of the best features about this website is that if you don’t move your curser for about 10 seconds and turn your volume is turned up, everything disappears on the screen and the background becomes a moving animation of a beautiful landscape with nature sounds.

do nothing for 2 minutes
This website literally tells you to do one thing: “Just relax and listen to the waves. Don’t touch your mouse or keyboard. Do nothing for 2 minutes.” If you move the mouse or keyboard (or try to be sneaky and go to a different tab like me) the timer resets and you start at 2:00 again. Now, I know what you’re thinking. What happens at the end of the two minutes? Well, that’s for me to know and you to find out.

Coffitivity
This website provides nontraditional sounds that help you focus on a task. Let’s say you have a task to complete but you’ve been procrastinating because it’s difficult and you can’t seem to find the energy to do it. This website provides background noise shown to improve creativity and productivity. Try it out.

ZooBorns
ZooBorns is my personal favorite from this list! ZooBorns provides pictures and stories of newborn animals. These stories are uplifting and cute, as some of the stories show animals that were born with certain medical or physical conditions. These stories show the perseverance of these animals, who are fighting hard to survive. I promise you these uplifting stories will brighten your mood. Or if you don’t want to read, you can just look at the adorable pictures too on Facebook or Instagram.
