In this video, AJ shares what happened when her lost her counselor.

If you recently lost your counselor for any reason and want someone to talk to about it, or just in general, these resources are for you.

If you need to talk to someone NOW call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or chat online.

Want to find someone new? Use a therapist finder like Psychology Today or HelpPro.

Or, if don’t really feel like finding a new counselor (which is totally cool if it suits you!) these self-care tips may help you.

  • Keep a journal
  • Blog/Vlog. It’s basically the same as journaling, but on the web.
  • Seeing a good friend or family member and just talking about life consistently can be incredibly beneficial. Have a daily, weekly, or monthly “date” with someone you can talk to.
  • Find a support group!
  • It’s easy to find online groups/forums/blogs (like the YouMatter blog) where you can read/listen to other’s stories, reach out to others who are/were in a similar situation as you, etc.
